Purpose of the role

The Operations Manager, Australasia role is a unique opportunity to drive operational efficiency and performance for a self-service hospitality platform changing the way guests engage with hospitality brands. This critical role reports to the VP, Operations (U.S.-based) and will be responsible for continually improving the operational experience and working with our partners to ensure they are getting the best use of the platform.

This is a busy scaleup role, and this person will work with senior leadership in operations, technology and product. This role will have direct responsibility for the growth of the Grab business in several markets. This role will help oversee the launch and ongoing operation of e-commerce at airports and high street restaurants across Australia and New Zealand. Significant travel (up to 75%) throughout Australia and New Zealand is expected. The ideal candidate is based in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage success of our new and existing partners through effective project management and engaging with key stakeholders
  • Technical on-boarding of new stores, building and maintenance of menus and inventory based on business requirements
  • Manage physical installations of equipment at stores, and maintenance of existing physical equipment at stores
  • Train store staff on the Grab platform and its products
  • Oversee technical support duties for restaurant and retail partners as needed

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
  • Should be confident and able to adapt to a range of operating systems and platforms; experience of iOS and Android preferred
  • Ability to take initiative in a constantly-changing work environment
  • A willingness to go the extra mile
  • Startup (all-hands-on-deck) approach
  • You will be travelling up to 75% of your time across Australia and New Zealand as we launch new markets and oversee the operations of existing markets
  • Love for travel and mobile e-commerce preferred
  • Must be able to pass background check for airport security badge access


  • Base Salary $70-$85k p.a depending on experience
